USC graduate composer Yeakun Yoo invited to Ukraine Peace Concert

The Ukrainian national anthem, arranged by a Korean composer, will be performed at the Concert for War and Peace hosted by the Film Music Festival (FMF) in Krakow, Poland.

Famous Hollywood artists such as Don Davis (composer for the film The Matrix), Trevor Morris (composer for the film 'The Vikings'), Laura Kaufman (composer for the Marvel series 'The Marvel'), and Alexander Desplat (composer for the film 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'). Film music composers are invited to perform, and Korean composer Yoo Ye-geun is invited to perform the Ukrainian national anthem he arranged with a 100-member orchestra.

Composer Yoo Ye-geun, who graduated summa cum laude from Seoul National University's Department of Composition and earned a master's degree in film music from USC Graduate School, is a talented composer who became the first Asian to win the 2021 Poland FMF International Film Music Competition. As the 2021 movie music mission song, he composed a scene from the famous Netflix series 'The Witcher' and was proudly selected as the 2021 winner, beating out many competitors. The Ukrainian national anthem he arranged was originally a courageous song that raised the proud spirit of Ukrainians, but composer Yoo Ye-geun added film music elements and reborn it as a more beautiful, delicate, and lyrical song that reflects the pain and sadness of the Ukrainian people. . Here, 70 members of the Polish National Choir will join in to sing the beautiful Ukrainian national anthem, reborn as film music.
